Verandah @ The Repulse Bay

This cute little gentleman was very active. For the interior SHE prefers the Verandah @ Peninsula, but you would feel like you are on vacation inside this building. So comfortable to sit there do nothing and listen their live band music.

美國國家航空航太局 (NASA) 科學家預測，壯觀的北極光將於2012年出現，明亮程度堪稱50年來之最。

專家説，自2007年以來，北極光一直呈不斷增強的態勢，並將在後年，即2012年達到頂峰。

北極光現象在太陽活動極大期期間可見範圍最大。這一時期，太陽磁場在太陽赤道旋轉的速度略快於它在太陽極地的速度。

上一次太陽活動極大期是2000年。美國國家航空航太局科學家預測，下一次將在2012年，這期間産生的北極光將是自1958年以來最壯觀的一次。

然而，如果2012年的北極光真如預計那樣強烈，它將破壞手機通訊、全球定位系統(GPS)甚至國家電力系統。

極光的形成依賴太陽活動。太陽拋出帶電粒子流，亦稱“太陽風”，與地球大氣層碰撞。地球外部圍繞著磁場，保護地球，以免太陽風長驅直入。帶電粒子與地球大氣層中的空氣分子碰撞，産生的能量瞬間釋放，生成炫目明亮的極光，在極地地區最清晰。

北極及附近地區上空的極光能夠向南擴展，蘇格蘭甚至更南地區都可以看到。

上一次太陽活動極大期至下一次極大期通常需要9年至14年，平均需要11年。

英國《每日郵報》10日援引托爾吉爾森的話報道：“2012年將是觀賞北極光的最佳時期，並且極光持續時間長。”
